Is an EWS1 Form Required for a Property with Cladding?

So there has been a lot of confusion with mortgage brokers and estate agents recently and if an EWS1 form is actually required on a property with cladding.


First of all, what is an EWS1 form?


An ESW1 form is a certificate confirming the property has an external Wall System Fire Review certificate.


So we just wanted to clear this up for future clients who're looking at buying an apartment in a multi-storey multi-occupied residential building (usually found down Cardiff Bay).


The good news is that there are a handful of mortgage lenders who can accept the property without an EWS1 form and we have recently had a mortgage approved on one.


You may find brokers and estate agents telling you different, if this is the case, please contact us as we we would love to help you.
